Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to carry a concealed pistol for personal defense.
This NRA CCW (Concealed Carry Weapon) Course is intended for individuals with previous pistol shooting experience. This instructor-led course gives you direct instruction from a Liberty Defense NRA-certified instructor from beginning to end and will be conducted in a classroom and on a shooting range.

- Carry Modes and Pistol Concealment
- NRA CCW Course of Fire (Student Drills and Shooting Qualification)
This Liberty Defense NRA CCW course goes above what is required by Washington state law to obtain a Washington state CPL (Concealed Pistol License), covering many important and essential topics related to CCW. Students will complete live fire training while on the range with a Liberty Defense, NRA Certified Instructor. Students will receive the following reference books:
- NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook
- NRA Guide to the Basics Of Personal Protection Outside The Home handbook
Students will take an NRA CCW Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor.
Prerequisites
- Be qualified to possess a firearm as defined by applicable federal, state or local law
- Be of good repute, come with a good attitude, and be ready to learn
- Pass the Pre-Course Assessment or present the following proof of shooting experience
- NRA Basic Pistol Course Certificate
- RA FIRST Steps Course Certificate
- NRA pistol competitive shooting qualification card
- Military DD 214 with pistol qualification

Fee
The class fees are listed below. If we receive your payment at least a week before the class, we will send you the NRA CCW Course student materials for you to preview; otherwise, you will receive the student materials at the class.
- Adult – $150
- Minor – $130
Age Restrictions
- 21 and older – no course restrictions
- 18 to 20 – no course restrictions, see * below
- 16 to 17 – must be accompanied by legal guardian
* Be aware of state laws limiting the ability to transport/possess handguns
Equipment
Please bring the following items:
- Quality pistol appropriate for concealed carry – recommend minimum of .380 or .38 Special.
- Quality strong-side hip holster – recommend form fitted leather or kydex, and must completely cover the trigger and trigger guard.
- Quality belt that is designed to carry a holster and a firearm is strongly recommended.
- Quality factory-sealed ammunition suitable for practice. Students should have at least two hundred rounds.
- Spare magazines or speed loaders with appropriate storage pouches – at least two additional (3 total).
- Clothing appropriate for concealed carry.
- Eye protection.
- Hearing protection – recommend electronic.
- A billed hat (e.g., baseball cap).

Lunch
Lunch will be a 30 minute break around 12:00 PM. Bring a sack lunch or a handful of food options are available in Quincy. A water bottle and non-disruptive snacks are recommended.
Pregnant Women and Nursing Mothers
Pregnant women and nursing mothers are encouraged to discuss the effects of exposure to loud sounds, airborne lead particulate, chemicals, lubricants, and solvents with their physicians prior to the first lesson.
